By road from the A1(M)

 

Our recommended route to drivers from all directions is: -

At junction 5 on A1139, Peterborough’s ring-road (east side), turn off for the City Centre. On reaching the first roundabout, turn left and follow the series of ‘little puffer’ (brown & white tourist) signs. This is the A605, that leads you over the River Nene and turn right into Oundle Road, where you turn right (just before the overhead rail bridge) into a Council car park. Then proceed through the car park, beneath the railway arches, to Railworld’s car park, alongside Nene Valley Railway’s Peterborough Station.

 

By road from the A15 /A47 (East)

 

Head along towards the City Centre. After passing the Main Railway Station, follow the road signs marked Oundle A605. After crossing the River Nene, turn right into Oundle Road then immediately right BEFORE going under the Railway line, this leads into a Block Paved Car Park. Follow the railway line and go through the first arch painted white on your left. Follow

the road which leads to Railworld and Nene Valley Railway's station.

 

By foot from Peterborough railway station

 

Turn right onto Bourges Boulevard and follow it all the way down to the Rivergate Centre. Follow the signs in the Rivergate centre and walk over the footbridge that goes over the River Nene. Turn right and follow the footpath alongside the riverbank to Railworld, underneath the Railway Bridges.

 

By Bike

 

Railworld is right by the ‘Green Wheel’ network.

 

By Bus

 

Railworld is 15 minutes walk from the Peterborough Bus/Coach Station.

Stagecoach Citi 1 route (which runs every 10 minutes) runs along Oundle Road, get off at ‘The Cherry Tree’. Then walk down Cubitt Way towards a large gate then go through the pedestrian entrance, then walk straight ahead to some Railway buffers, then on your left is Railworld.
